Welcome to the homepage for my VR work! At the moment I primarily create custom avatars for VRChat, working from existing bases.

I’m still learning from-scratch avatar and world creation. Watch this space for updates!

Avatar Showcase
a showcase featuring a number of screenshots of a semi-realistic VRChat sheep avatara showcase of two screenshots of a VRChat avatar, an alien dragon with six eyes and a fluffy mane. one screenshot shows the avatar with a second pair of arms, while the other shows it wearing a long black coat with fingerless gloves, shorts, boots, and stockings. text on the image reads "New head sculpt, toggleable body sculpt, texture and material modifications; Custom mane with physbones; Toggleable second pair of arms, which can move with main arms or have their pose frozen; Alternate optimized versions (Medium ranking); Custom outfit" and "pictures from Exoplanet Journey world by Niko"

My Experience

I’ve been making VRChat avatars since December 2024*, when I got really sick and found myself with too much free time on my hands. I had preferences for my personal avatar which I couldn’t achieve with a base retexture alone – to make my sona Pica, I wanted a specific style of base (realistic anthro canine), which only existed with a specific body type (big beefy wolfman), but I wanted to represent my own body type (the polar opposite of big beefy wolfman), and give it outfits like I had in real life (not available on the base by default), and so on. This meant I had to learn a lot of different techniques and, in the process, I discovered a terrible and humiliating truth about myself: I actually enjoyed all this!

(I think any avatar artist will agree you have to be a masochist to stand it. Relevant shout-out to the person at the VRChat meetup at Anthro New England 2026 who gave me two buttons that say “lost 48 hours this week implementing furry avatars in Unity” and “i spent all day in Blender and didn’t cry once”)

Since then I have made many avatars, and edits to other people’s existing avatars, and I’m happy to say I still have a lot of fun doing it. As of May 2026 I’ve begun making fully custom avatars from scratch, and I’m excited to continue developing those skills.

*That is, unless you count this thing I cobbled together in an afternoon, in which case I technically started in 2023.
